Meet the Team

The Sales Coaching team is Bill & Alison Clarke supported by some very good associates. Each run their own businesses and specialise in complementary services. Sales Coaching also work with two other Sales Training Companies, one specialises in accompanied visits, coaching on site and the other in classroom training. The associates come together when a clients’ needs are better addresses collectively.
Within Sales Coaching, Bill focuses on the front of house activities of Business Development and the creation and delivery of Training, Mentoring Coaching and behaviour improvement. It’s all about “Doing the RIGHT THINGS – WELL”.
Alison makes it all happen; focusing on bookings, venues, administration and making sure all candidates are welcomed and looked after during their course.
As Bill writes and delivers the t programs, here is his biography:
Bill started his very successful sales career in the 1970’s in the FMCG market. As his career developed he moved into speciality sales and then into industrial sales, selling both capital equipment and consumable materials. Significantly building experience and skills as well as leading the sales force results tables.
His career and his understanding of great sales performance took a major step forward in the 1980s while working with Plessey the Electronics giant. Here he forged a reputation as a results driven leader before eventually leading the turnaround and successful trade sale of Austin Taylor Communications in the early 90’s.
Following promotion to a parent company group position, Bill took responsibility for Sales & Marketing activities throughout the world excluding the America’s. This included residential assignments at group HQ in North America and setting up a distributor network in S.E. Asia before returning to the UK.
That stint eventually led to the Shepherd Group in the late ‘90s, where Bill once again proved instrumental in a turnaround story of momentous proportions – taking the company into the international communications infrastructure market and with it, turning it from a declining company with a £14 million turnover to a growing one with revenues of some £36 million just three years later.
Other similar success stories followed as Bill then identified the Park Home market as having a significant potential for the Group. Following in depth research, Bill won Group Board support to enter the market with a high level Leisure Lodge brand and to acquire a mid range Residential Park Home business. Homeseeker Homes Limited, was acquired and Advent Leisure Homes was launched both in 2004
The Advent Leisure Homes start up grew to a profitable £7m turnover in just three years.
The combined business, with Bill as MD, met its business plan commitments, growing from £9m to £17m turnover in the three years to 2007. Bill then won Group Board support for a major capital investment in a purpose built, high capacity, production facility which he opened in 2008.
Bill has gained valuable experience and skills in just about every discipline of business – from acquisition and disposal to turnaround and high business growth.
Throughout Bill’s career, he has continuously trained and developed his sales teams, often achieving exceptional sales performances. He supplemented his efforts with Sales Training Courses, purchased from the big name providers. Bill became increasingly disillusioned as the learned and used skills were negligible, often nonexistent after only one month back in the job.
During a Leadership program at Ashridge Business School, Bill had his first taste of professional Coaching. “The experience was enjoyable, supportive and stimulating. I found discussing my challenges with an external Coach much easier than I thought it would be. The unbiased, no own agenda, questions and feedback were enlightening. This encouraged me to train as a Coach and to add to my qualifications with a Diploma Course in Personal Performance Coaching, from The Coaching Academy”.
